The Details
the house
This 1950's duplex in the north end of Dewey Beach was 100% renovated and remodeled in the spring of 2021, and converted into a single family home. We retained as much of the historic charm as possible, but gutted the entire interior and updated every inch of the house, including the electrical and plumbing. Starting in September of 2024, we are building an addition to add more living space downstairs and bedrooms/bathrooms upstairs. Detailed images are included in the photos.
The house will feature 6 bedrooms, 5 full bathrooms (3-king bedrooms with ensuite baths), a powder room downstairs and 2 outside showers. There is an eat-in kitchen with oversized island, a dining table to seat 12 comfortably, two covered porches, an in-ground pool with heat/chill options, and a firepit w/wood provided. In keeping with the historic nature of the home, it is stocked with a variety of vintage items for kids to play with, including old phones, encyclopedias, cash register, typewriter, viewmaster, and more.
the location
the town
Located at the end of the second block of Jersey Street in Dewey Beach, Delaware, the home is a short two-block walk to the dune entrance. Other close attractions include:
One block to Fifer’s Farm Market and the Jolly Trolley stop
½ mile to the south end of the Rehoboth Boardwalk, via the beach or King Charles access road
3 blocks to East of Maui Surf Shop, which marks the north-end of Dewey’s commercial zone, 4 blocks to Sunrise Restaurant, 5 blocks to Dewey Beer Co., and 6 blocks to the Starboard, etc!
Dewey Beach is truly “A Way of Life.” Tucked between the ocean and the bay, with limited parking and accommodations, we have less crowded beaches and a gentle sense of community and camaraderie. In addition to the business owners here, many of the kids and young adults you meet working on the beach and in the restaurants are locals who take pride in their community. Read on for some more interesting facts about our awesome little town.
About one mile long and three blocks wide, Dewey boasts a year-round population of about 300.
The town’s unique coastal location causes a steep surf break, ideal for skimboarding. Dewey hosts the annual East Coast Skimboarding Championships in mid-August every year.
Off season weekend events and attractions.
Dewey is dog friendly, check the town website for lots of useful information and guidelines.
